Camp Challenge Defying odds, you set high goals and strive to achieve them. Now we want to help you develop new skills that will enable you to reach even higher. That's why we have invited rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders only to apply for Camp Challenge. The students attending will represent the best and brightest young people in the Southeast. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your mind, body, and spirit. From the minute you arrive at Sertoma's Camp Challenge you will be taking part in an adventure that will strengthen your leadership and communication skills. You will set goals and learn to face challenges and think optimistically. You will explore, the hot topics and current affairs that affect the future of our state, nation and world. To challenge your body you will master the Group Initiative Course. Campers will also take part in all of the typical daily camp activities such as horseback riding, hiking, arts and crafts, swimming, nature studies, night hike and camp outs. Depending on the week attending, the camp program, classes and schedule may vary slightly. What is Camp Challenge? Camp Challenge is a partnership between North Carolina 4-H and the North Carolina Bankers Association, Florida Bankers Association and the Boys and Girls clubs of North Carolina. They have joined forces to reach a common goal; building a strong future for our country. We share the belief that a strong future depends on bright young people, reaching their potential. At camp you will learn by doing. We emphasize, life skills, trying new things, increasing curiosity and expanding motivation. Most importantly, Camp Challenge offers you a place to practice decision-making skills. |

Who Are the Camp Challenge Staff? A group of young adults who love to teach and share with others, currently enrolled in college or recent college graduates. They are trained in nonviolent crisis prevention and intervention. A number of international staff are employed each summer; this ensures campers a cross-cultural experience. Who can Attend Camp Challenge When is Camp Challenge for 2008?
check-in is on Sundays from 2-3:30pm check-out is on Fridays at 10am. NOTIFICATION IN CASE OF ILLNESS OR INJURY: In the event a camper becomes ill or is injured the Camp Director, Assistant Director, or Health Coordinator will call the camper's parents, guardian, or, in the event they are unavailable, the designated adult at the alternative emergency number. Situations in which parents would be notified are: serious illness, injuries such as cuts requiring stitches, sprains, broken bones, or other care that required a camper be transported away from Camp. |
