Deaf Camp June 21-26
2009 Sertoma Deaf Camp invites children ages 8-16 who are deaf, hard
of hearing, or have a family member who is deaf or hard of hearing to
join us in the beautiful Sauratown Mountains of North Carolina for a
week of fun and adventure.
Campers will be accepted on a first come first serve basis as long as
space is available. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 made payable
to Sertoma Deaf Camp is required with the initial registration form.
A complete camp information packet will be mailed when this registration
is received. As of 5/17/09 deaf camp is
full and we are putting campers on a waiting list.

| 1.
Explorers for ages 8-12
These campers will explore many activities, including (but not limited
to) swimming, hiking, horseback riding, team building, arts and crafts,
drama/dance, horseback riding, science and nature, hiking to the top
of Hanging Rock and swimming in the lake, and much more! The Explorers
will stay in cabins, grouped by age.. Register

| 2.Challengers for ages 13-14
In addition to the activities that the Explorers group will be participating
in, the Challengers will be challenging themselves with activities such
as the high ropes course and archery. This group will learn some elementary
outdoor living skills. The Challengers will primarily stay in cabins,
but may also spend a night or two under the stars. Register

3.Adventurers for ages 15-16
The Adventurers will branch out on their own, staying in tents or similar
outdoor shelters, and will enjoy some more high adventure activities
such as hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, back packing, team building
on the high ropes course and more. They will learn survival and outdoor
living skills such as preparing their own meals over a campfire, compass
and orienteering, trail building, plant identification, and more. Register

Sertoma Deaf Camp is the result
of a partnership between the North Carolina 4-H program and Sertoma
Clubs across North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.They have joined
forces because they have a common goal; for every young person to have
the opportunity to have a summer camp experience no matter what the
disability may be.
