What is Camp Chill?

Sertoma 4-H Center covers nearly 900 acres in the beautifully forested Sauratown Mountains of North Carolina. Located off Moore’s Springs Road in Stokes County, about 25 miles north-northeast of Winston-Salem, it is centrally located and an easy car ride from most anywhere in the state. Despite its proximity to some of North Carolina's major urban areas, it retains a quiet relaxed atmosphere that makes it seem worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Who Can Attend Camp CHILL?

When you come to the center, you'll get to relive part of our state's history. Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, North Carolina was a popular destination for people seeking rejuvenation and relaxation at the state's many mineral springs resorts. One of the popular resorts they visited was on land that is now the Sertoma 4-H Center. For his resort, owner Cicero Tise chose the name Vade Mecum Springs. The name incorporates a Latin phrase that means “come with me”.
